Mid November at the Lake

November 16, 2011

The end of fall and the beginning of the winter season is here.  Snow fell and lingered for a few days last week; but the warm temperatures of the weekend melted the snow and brought sun that we enjoyed.  The north wind blows and feels bitter especially in contrast to the warmth we enjoyed just yesterday.  The smaller lakes will succumb to ice quickly with the dropping temperatures;  it will be interesting to see exactly when Burntside 'ices over' this year.

In the meantime, this is transition time;  time to let go of the busy-ness of summer and fall, time to settle into winter.  It is a cycle and Mother Nature is the only one in charge.
