When
you stay at Burntside Lodge, you have at your disposal a wide
variety of activities. From listening to the common loon on the
lake, to hiking in the forest, to paddling the lake in a canoe or kayak,
there is little left to be desired on your vacation. You have the leisure
to do as much or as little as you wish.

- Portage a canoe to Hegman Lake to view the Native American
pictographs and enjoy the scenery
- Play a game of Sand Volleyball in our regulation

- Swim in our crystal clear waters
- Cruise the lake by motorboat
- Heat up in our Finnish Sauna
- View the northern lights
- HOWL! Participate in a wolf howling at the International Wolf
Center. With resident wolves,
exhibits, displays and a learning environment, this
represents an experience not to be missed
- Take the paddleboat out on the lake for a
relaxing cruise
- Visit the Dorothy Molter Museum and learn about "The Root Beer Lady," the last woman to live in
the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area
- Tour the Tower-Soudan Mine, a journey beneath the
earth
- Visit the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary. Learn about
black bears by observing them in their natural habitat.
- Have a picnic on the lawn watching your children
play on the playground
- Golf at Ely's 9-Hole course
- Ely offers the conveniences of a small town only
6 miles away from The Lodge. There are small shops,
antique stores, book and gift shops, and grocery stores
in town
- Pick seasonal blueberries, raspberries, or wild
flowers
